Winsor & Newton Drawing Inks have been used by illustrators since their introduction in the 1890's, where the main requirement is brilliance of colour. Today they are formulated from a series of soluble dyes in a superior shellac solution. These inks can be applied with brush, dip pen or airbrush and are widely used by designers, calligraphers and artists as well as illustrators.
FW Artists’ Inks are an acrylic based pigmented water resistant ink with a 3 or 4 star rating for permanence.
For use with pens or brushes Ecoline is used by designers and illustrators for its vibrant glowing colours. In a range of 48 colours including a metallic gold the colours are transparent (except white and metallic) and intense but sadly they are not as lightfast as traditional pigmented watercolours.
