Although they come at a higher price, these locally manufactured canvases are our top sellers here at Spectrum. These are excellent quality multi-filament, high tensile cotton canvases preferred by the more advanced or professional artist. They are stretched onto re-tenchanable artists' stretches and can be made and sized to order. With the standard edge being wider than the norm (3cm), this range is our recommendation. Prime Art

Prime Art stretch canvases offers excellent value. The artist primed canvas is stretched onto a frame made from kiln dried, specially selected wood that ensures maximum resistance to warping and bending. They are made from 380g fully primed 100% cotton canvas. |
Prime Art Student

The Prime Art Student range is made from 285g 100% cotton canvas which is fully primed on wooden standard profile frames. Although it is cheaper than the range above, it is a quality economical option for students, beginner artists and crafters. |
Pro-Art
|
100% 380g cotton canvas acrylic triple gesso primed. It is acid free and suitable for both acrylic and oil paints. |
Winsor & Newton
|
Winsor & Newton canvases are a high quality medium grain, 100% cotton, acid free range that has been double coated with primer. The canvases are for general use with oil (including water mixable) acrylic and alkyd colour. Please note that all Winsor canvases are supplied with wedges which are used to expand the stretcher if the canvas slackens in adverse weather conditions. Wedges should be placed in the corners and tapped in with a pin hammer. The use of wedges is not a common requirement.
